I would like to write my first blog as an intro to my company and the vision behind W.H.Y. (Westcoast Hot Yoga).  I began practicing yoga to undergo physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.  I consider myself a dedicated student who wishes to share this practice and lifestyle with everyone I meet and to meet as many people as I can.  I wanted to create a space for people to practice yoga and feel at home.  At home you feel safe and comfortable which is the perfect environment to grow and heal. 

From there I became certified to teach yoga by Bikram Choudhury an amazing yoga master.  I diligently practiced his teachings and began instructing within a year.  In this same year I opened my first studio in White Rock/South Surrey.  To my amazement I have met thousands of students experiencing the same healing benefits I have experienced.    At last! My dream was coming true, a beautiful serene safe space for people to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Through focused attention on this vision the school grows and every day I meet someone new who is interested in practicing yoga.  Thousands of people have come to the studio to practice yoga and they have brought their friends and family.  It seems that this passion to share yoga is also within my students.  And the vision grows further and our students become teachers, teaching more students. Within the first five years thousands of dedicated yogi’s and yogini’s helped the school to succeed and another school in Yaletown was built. Once again! My dream was coming true, more space for people to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Thank you to all that have shared in this journey, together we are building a company that improves people’s quality of life.  At W.H.Y. every investor, director, employee, teacher and student practices a yogic lifestyle.  We believe in helping people and it is our business to help people help themselves. A yogic lifestyle is a progressive evolution of human beings and the societies that we inhabit.
